Using the Excel MROUND Function


The MROUND function returns a number rounded to a desired multiple. The MROUND function will always round up (away from zero).


=MROUND (number, multiple)

Number and Multiple Signs
Both number and multiple must have the same signs. If they do not, the function returns the #NUM! error.

Excel has various rounding functions that can be used in different situations.
  • ROUNDDOWN will round a number down towards zero to a user specified number of decimal places.
  • ROUNDUP can be used to round a number up a given number of decimal places.
  • ROUND will round a number to a specified number of digits and can round to the right or left of the decimal place.
