Using the Excel IMAGINARY Function

The Excel IMAGINARY function returns the imaginary coefficient of a complex number in such text format as x + yi or x + yj.

Use the COMPLEX function to convert real and imaginary coefficients into a complex number.

The function will return the #NUM! error if a value besides "i" or "j" is entered in the argument.
